arnold schwarzenegger confirms involvement in TERMINATOR 5

terminator 5 poster
Word on the net is that Arnold Schwarzenegger himself has confirmed his involvement with the latest Terminator film.  While there is no official confirmation as of yet, Schwarzenegger was said to announce his appearance in Terminator 5 during a recent press day for The Last Stand.  The Kim Jee-woon actioner was intended to be Schwarzenegger’s big return to a leading role in action, but the opening weekend’s box office was a huge disappointment.  Perhaps returning to one of his signature franchises would help return the living legend to his former glory.  Terminator production has been ramping up behind the scenes as of late, so we’ll have to wait and see how all of this plays out.  Hit the jump for more.

In the  2008 edition of the awards, Kwaw Kese picked 5 awards including ‘Artiste of the Year’. The wins came on the back of his ‘Abodam’ album with songs like ‘Odiem’, ‘Na Ya Tal’ and ‘Wose Mmaa Pe Wo’.

supreme court grants NDC joinder application

supreme court of ghana
The Supreme Court has granted by a 6 - 3 majority decision the joinder motion brought by the governing National Democratic Congress seeking to be joined to the election petition filed by the opposition New Patriotic Party.

The nine-member panel last week heard arguments from the lead counsel for the NDC, Mr Tsatsu Tsikata who insisted the governing party offered President John Mahama the platform to contest for the presidency and was thus an interested party whose interest would be injured if it was not allowed to join the petition as a respondent.

Lionel Messi Wins Ballon d'Or, Continues Building His Legend

lionel messi
Another record falls. Lionel Messi finished 2012 on 91 goals in 69 games. He began 2013 by winning the Fifa Ballon d'Or (with 41.6% of the votes), Cristiano Ronaldo (23.7%) came second and Andrés Iniesta (10.9%) third. It is the fourth time Messi has won it and no one else has won it so often. Because the award is a merger of the old European Footballer of the Year and the Fifa World Player of the Year which was inaugurated only in 1991, Diego Maradona never won it and nor did Pelé but it is doubtful if they would have matched Messi's achievement. Marco van Basten won the European award three times in five years, Johan Cruyff three in four and Platini three years in a row. Alfredo Di Stéfano won it twice. Messi has superseded all of them.

Music Business In 2012 Was Impressive

sarkodie
The Musicians Union of Ghana did a remarkable job though most musicians claim they have their priority musicians appearing on various stages with the Tema based artiste been left out in most of their programmes. So far over US$ 5 Million has been invested in music and music related activities in the year 2012.

Most visible side of this expense includes brand endorsements coupled with commercials, events expense and government budgetary allocations. If you are guessing who earned most in the year 2012 then I am sure your guess is very right.

First of all I have to outline the performance of various artistes for the 2012 music year which will probably serve as basis of recommendation for various awards in the country to avoid controversy.

Discovery of the year though keenly contested will definitely have to go to Kaakie, the female dancehall artiste.

Best Male Traditional category nominees Agya Koo Nimo and out-of-form Kologo singer King Ayisoba also failed to win.

The Kora Awards finally took place Sunday night in Abidjan, after string of hitches, which the organizers say was due to a heavy downpour, delays in the delivery of musical equipment and the late arrival of star artiste, Chris Brown.
