A KUMASI Circuit Court, presided over by Emmanuel Amoh-Yartey, has sentenced a 27-year-old man to 15 years’ imprisonment in hard labour for brutally assaulting his three-year-old son.

Clement Obeng, a labourer who resided at Atimatim, a suburb of Kumasi, nearly killed the minor after subjecting him to severe beatings with a cane for wetting his bed.

The convict, a native of Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, pleaded guilty to the charge of causing harm contrary to section 69 of Act 29 of 1960.
