"Blame Afriyie Ankrah For Brazil Fiasco", Kenpong

Chairman of the Kenpong Group of Companies, Mr Kennedy Agyapong
The Chairman of the Kenpong Group of Companies, Mr Kennedy Agyapong, has accused the former Youth and Sports Minister, Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, of personally arrogating to himself some of the organisational activities relating to the sponsorship of supporters to the Brazil World Cup.

This, he said, were the reasons for the poor organisation for the supporters in Brazil.
He said even though government had asked Kenpong Travel and Tours, for instance, to transport 270 passengers to Brazil and arrange their accommodation and internal travel in Brazil, that was taken away from  the company at the eleventh hour.

Contributing to discussions on the fall out of Ghana’s participation at the World Cup on Peace FM Monday morning, Mr Agyapong said Kenpong was told at the last minute to only concentrate on just transporting the 270 passengers to Brazil.

After nearly four hours of prizes, performances and the occasional bleeped expletive, the 2014 BET Awards came to a close. When it was all over, Pharrell Williams had two trophies, as did newcomer August Alsina, and Lil Wayne dropped the mike, apparently breaking it.

Here's a look at some of the memorable moments that emerged from Sunday night's ceremony, broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre on BET:

Accepting her fifth consecutive award for female hip-hop artist, Nicki Minaj gave a rambling speech in which she said she was recently near death.

Nicki Minaj Describes Near-Death Experience In BET Awards Speech @NICKIMINAJ

Nicki Minaj told the crowd at the BET Awards that she was close to death recently -- an experience that has helped her be herself.

The rapper rambled onstage when accepting her fifth consecutive win for best female hip-hop artist, where she thanked Lil Wayne for his support, talked about writing her own lyrics and about getting the credit she deserves in the industry.

"The other day, literally I didn't tell anybody this, I really thought I was about to die. Like, I was saying my prayers to die. And I didn't even want to call the ambulance because I thought, `Well if I call the ambulance, it's going to be on TMZ,"' she said, as some of the audience laughed.

"And I would rather sit there and die," she added, looking to the crowd. "And it made me realize I don't care what anybody got to say. I'm going to do me."

#Hollywood To Make Film On Ghana's $3m World Cup Drama

American movie industry, Hollywood, is to make a movie based on the bizarre transfer of three million dollars meant for the Black Stars from Ghana to Brazil via a chartered flight.

The Guardian reported Monday that the screenplay, to be written by Darryl Wharton-Rigby, will centre on a courier tasked with bringing $3m (£1.76m) across the Atlantic to Brazil in an effort to stop the Ghanaian football team quitting the competition in protest at lack of pay.

It is based on a real-life impasse which affected the west African team prior to their exit at the group stage last week, though fictional elements will be incorporated to further spice up the proposed movie, the report stated.

Jesus Would Have Supported Gay Marriage - Elton John @eltonjohndotcom

Jesus would have been a supporter of gay marriage, Sir Elton John has claimed.

The musician, who plans to marry his civil partner David Furnish next year in a "very quiet" ceremony, said that rules preventing gay clergy from marrying and requiring Catholic priests to be celibate were "old and stupid things".

He told Sky News's Murnaghan programme: "The church hierarchy, the traditionalists, might be up in arms about it but times have changed.

"If Jesus Christ was alive today, I cannot see him, as the Christian person that he was and the great person that he was, saying this could not happen.

“I am very, very disappointed. It just wasn’t a good time. The nightmare lasted from the first day of the preparations until the very end,” he begins.

“I would never have thought that the preparations and the World Cup itself could be so badly organized. The hotels, the flights – everything was amateurish.”

Greece Players Turn Down World Cup Bonus

You might not like their style of play, but this would appear to be another reason to like Greece ahead of their World Cup last 16 clash against Costa Rica.

And, most famously last week with Ghana where 3 million dollars had to be shipped out to Brazil ahead of their final game against Portugal.

Now, the Greece team have written to their prime minister Antonis Samaras and told him they are not interested in their World Cup bonus but simply want the money to be put towards a sports centre for the national team.

Ghana has one point from two matches in the tournament and will play Portugal in a crucial Group G match Thursday June 26.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Prophet Kyei-Duah affirmed his prophecy that God had revealed to him that this year’s World Cup would be the first time an African country was going to reach the semi-finals.
“One loss, one draw, one win. Ghana will go to the next stage of the tournament with four points. Ghanaians have to relax; we’ll get to the semi-finals,” he said.

Restraining Order On Ghana Gas Lifted

The restraining order imposed on the Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) preventing it from continuing work on the Atuabo gas infrastructure project has been lifted, paving way for the company to continue work.

The injunction was lifted by the Sekondi High Court presided by Mr Justice Kofi Akrowia yesterday after the Ghana Gas company filed an application for a variation of the court’s earlier ruling issued last week Monday, June 9, 2014. Per the new ruling yesterday, the companies which were initially restrained from continuing work on the Atuabo land have been given the green light to go ahead with construction activities while the case takes its normal course in court. The companies include SINOPEC, the Chinese construction firm working on the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant, Quantum Terminals Limited (QTL) and the Ghana Oil Limited (GOIL). One individual, Ernest Nunoo, owner of Ernest Seafront Hotel, was also sued in the case.

NPP On Tight Rope – Jake

The immediate-past National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey is worried about the sudden flurry of people who want to lead the party in the 2016 elections, saying the “party is walking on tight rope” due to their activities.

“What I am concerned about is that the people of Ghana are looking to the NPP to rescue them from all the terrible things that are happening. However, the NPP is now also showing that it does not recognize that the nation is facing a crisis. We are much more concerned about our own petty grievances and personal agendas instead of the national agenda.”

#WorldCup2014: Shake-Up In Black Stars For Germany Match

There is bound to be a massive shake-up in the Black Stars set-up for tomorrow’s crucial game in Fortaleza, take it or leave it.
Ghana's losing line-up and tactical formation in Monday’s group opener against USA are bound to be shuffled as the Stars look to beat fearsome Germany to rekindle hopes in Brazil.
At least, that is the signal so far picked up from the team's training in Maceio, even though, as usual, Coach Kwasi Appiah is keeping his plans close to his chest.

But sources close to the technical team, and from observations at the training, believe that the starting line-up against the Germans will see Adam Kwarasey in goal, with Samuel Inkoom (or Daniel Opare again) and Harrison Afful at the full backs or lateral defence.

Ghana’s opening 2014 World Cup clash against USA on Monday is in danger of being called off after heavy rains ravaged the north-eastern Brazilian city of Natal where the match will be played.

The heavy rains led to flooded streets, a small landslide, and the evacuation of at least 50 homes and one apartment building Saturday evening.

The rains began on Friday and were expected to continue on Sunday when the Black Stars arrive for the match but it is doubtful if the Arena das Dunas Stadium would be able to host the match if the heavy rains continue.

The USA team arrived in Natal on Saturday afternoon before the Americans open World Cup play Monday evening.

Neymar and Oscar Star As Brazil Survive Early Own Goal In World Cup 2014 Opener [Hilights+]

This was a World Cup in just one game with brilliance, calamity and controversy. And, with it, Brazil had the victory they so desperately craved and could not possibly have dealt with being deprived; the tournament exploded into life.
They have a star also, the star they wanted, the star they cherish, with two goals from Neymar.
There was an own goal, a storm of emotion, and there was a bad taste as the Japanese referee, Yuichi Nishimura, awarded the penalty that should never have been given but which provided Brazil with their release.
In such a proud occasion that was a shameful moment even if Oscar gilded the occasion with a superb, late third goal – toe-poking from outside the area.
For Luiz Felipe Scolari, the Brazil coach, his team, his nation is underway. They will have to improve but already this World Cup is set to be one to remember as everyone prayed it would be beyond the protests and the vastness.

What's The Best Time To Raise Delicate Sexual Issues With A New Partner???

If it's something like "I have herpes," you tell the person even before you become intimate. When you're alone together, and in a nonsexual moment—though preferably not when you're driving—you say something like "I enjoy being with you, and I have the feeling that this has the makings of a relationship. But before we go any further, there's something I need to tell you, although I'm scared it might affect the way you feel about me." But let's face it, a lot of partners hear herpes and they're out the door.
