musiga calls for stakeholders forum on research

The Musicians Union of Ghana is leading a research to establish the economic contribution of Music to our National Growth Domestic Product (GDP).  This is in line with government policy to promote research into the Music industry and access data to inform evidence based policy making as captured in the Ghana Shared Growth and Development Agenda (GSGDA) 2010 -2013 document and the 2012 Budget of the republic of Ghana.

The outcome of the Study would be used to prepare a four year medium term strategic plan to guide the development of the Ghanaian Music Industry.

The Union has contracted KPMG as consultant for the research.  Following a successful kick off meeting with KPMG, the Union is organizing a stakeholders forum with the view to prepare the grounds for all who have information to share with the consultants to ensure that at the end of this project we shall have a very credible data to drive investments into the music sector.
The theme for the forum is:  Revitalizing the Creative Art Industry: The Contribution of the Music Sector to the Socio –economic development of Ghana”.
The Forum will happen on Tuesday 15th January 2013 at the British Council Auditorium. Time is 9.00AM

MUSIGA hereby invites people with particular interests in the music industry as well as the general public to this unique industry event. Attendants will be given the platform to comment, respond or make an input on the subject matter so please come prepared.
