Jerry Akaminko Ruled Out Of World Cup #Brazil2014

Jerry Akaminko
Reports reaching us has it that Eskisehirspor defender Jerry Akaminko has been ruled out of the 2014 World Cup after breaking his fibula during Ghana’s 0-1 loss to the Netherlands in Saturday’s pre-World Cup friendly in Rotterdam.

Akaminko fell awkwardly in the final minutes of the match after going for an aerial ball and he was stretchered off just before the referee’s final whistle.

Sources reveal that after further examination by the Black Stars team doctor, Baba Adams, it was detected that the defender had broken his fibula in his left leg and will be ruled out for three months.

According to our source, Akaminko will leave with the team for the United States, where he will have surgery, but the injury effectively rules him out of the 2014 World Cup.
The former Hearts of Lions captain was expected to be one of the players going to Brazil as one of four central defenders and looked a sure bet until his unfortunate injury.
