Asante Kotoko confirms participation in next season’s CAF Champions League

Asante Kotoko have confirmed their participation in next season’s CAF Champions League with a list of twenty-six (26) players to the African Football governing body, CAF.

CAF provides 30 slots for all participating clubs for player registration but the Ghana Champions submitted 26 names and this enables the club to make a further addition when CAF opens the second registration window for the club to beef up if they make it for the group stages.

Kotoko’s list is made up of 3 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 8 midfielders and 6 attackers. Below is the full list of 26 submitted by Kotoko.

Mad Time Entertainment, which manages Tema-based award winning hip-hop artiste Kwaw Kesse aka Abodam, has released a very strong worded and threatening press statement directed at the Accra-based music group, VIP.

The statement, signed by Fennec Okyere on behalf of Mad Time, warned VIP that if the group felt safe in Nima, a densely populated Accra suburb,  Kwaw Kesse also had a strong support base in Tema and other parts of the country and his fans might physically attack VIP  if the group went to those areas.

Ghollywood Production (GP) Limited, organizers of the prestigious Ghana movie awards wishes to announce to the general public that this year’s award ceremony will come off at the Accra International Conference Centre on Christmas Day, December 25.

GP Limited had earlier announced to organize the award ceremony on December 2, ahead of the upcoming General Elections on December 7.

This was after it considered the unforeseen challenges that might affect the ceremony in a likely case of a run-off during the elections.

A correspondence from the University of Oxford, one of the world’s leading higher institutions, has affirmed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, was not expelled from the university.

A statement issued as far back as February 27, 2012 by Professor Ewan McKendrick, Registrar of the University, said, “Mr. Akufo-Addo was at the University during the 1962/63 academic year.

“We have searched our archives and found no record to indicate that Mr Akufo-Addo was expelled by the University.”

The "Abodam" rapper, Kwaw Kesse, has dropped a heavy diss on Sarkodie in his new song.

Known for his "nonsensical" lyrics, this new song by Kwaw Kesse comes in as a big surprise for the Ghanaian music fraternity with lots of controversial lines put together by Kwaw.

sentenced to 80 years in prison over deaths of toddlers

24 year old Nigerian/American woman, Jessica Tata, was sentenced to 80 years in prison on Monday November 20th after being found guilty of the death of one of four children killed in a fire at her home day care in Houston.

16-month-old Elias Castillo and three other toddlers died after Tata left them unsupervised at her home while she went to a nearby store. Prosecutors say she left a pan of oil cooking atop a stovetop burner and that this ignited the February 2011 blaze. There were 7 children when the fire started, four died, three survived.

Prophet TB Joshua has said it is untrue God had told him to tell Ghanaians that he country’s December 7 presidential polls would not elect a clear winner but would be eventually decided in a second round of voting.

Several news outlets reported over the weekend that the Nigerian prophet had prophesied or predicted a two-round poll for Ghana just as he accurately predicted a three-round for Ghana’s 2008 presidential polls.

News coming in has it that former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, has passed on this morning at the Korle-Bu teaching hospital.

Alhaji Aliu Mahama served under the erstwhile Kufuor administration from 2001 to January 7 2009.

He died at the age of 66.

The former Vice President has been ill for some time now and has been receiving treatment at the nation’s premiere hospital.

“We were at our morning devotion, when i realised that the pillar I was standing by was cracking…all I realised was that the building had fallen, and I was under rubbles.

She said there were over 50 staff members in the building at the time. Some were doing some work in the other floors, but the rest of us were all together having our daily morning devotion.
