NPP Has Failed Ghanaians – Ken Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong MP for Assin Central
A senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused Ghana’s largest opposition party of failing the nation.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, who is also MP for Assin Central, is however laying the blame squarely at the doorstep of so-called party big men who he says have decided to always go counter to the party’s official position on issues of national development.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, Wednesday June 4, 2014, Mr Agyapong maintained that the actions of these NPP men and women - who come under various headings such as 'founding/leading member' - is running down the party and shortchanging Ghanaians.

"For instance when the party takes a position, then you hear some old, big men in the party saying the opposite. Why should Ghanaians take us serious?

"We are busy running each other down, when we should be attacking this corrupt NDC government. We (NPP) have failed Ghanaians," he declared.

He supported calls for an early congress to elect the NPP flagbearer, saying it would bring an end to all the acrimony in the party.

In another development, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong is calling for the head of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah for alleged incompetence.

The renowned businessman insists Governor Wampah is not fit for the job, having overseen Ghana’s woeful economic situation.

He maintained that Ghanaians deserve the current economic hardships they are going through, having warned that the NDC were not capable of running the country in both the 2008 and 2012 elections.

"I feel so good if I look at what is happening. When I was talking about these things people hurled all manner of insults at me, but today when we all go to the market we feel the pinch. I feel so good," he declared.
