The Head Coach of the Black Stars, James Kwesi Appiah has responded to comments by former Black Stars captain and three times African best player Abedi Ayew Pele, by indicating that he has no problem with him since they are very good friend’s.

Abedi Pele in an interview recently whiles reacting to the decision of his two children, Andre and Jordan to temporarily retire from the Black Stars, is reported to have stated that Kwesi Appiah had disappointed him.

“I am friends with everyone including Kwesi Appiah but if you have a friend who has disappointed you, what do you do? You stay behind your kids,” he said.

Kwesi Appiah reacting to the statement from the former Black Star captain in an interview on Happy FM, expressed shock that such a statement could come from his fellow team mate. He indicated that their relationship has been very cordial with he even visiting Abedi sometimes.

“I don’t have any problem with him . Last year, I visited him like three or four times and even visited him in his office.

I don’t have any problem with Abedi, all along I don’t have any problem with him. I am very surprised such a statement is coming from him.

I don’t want to talk much about this issue, we have a very big game ahead of us and all I am doing is to prepare the team to face Sudan in our World Cup qualifier. We need the support from all so we can qualify to the World Cup,” he said.
