three university of port harcourt students brutally beating and burnt alive for stealing a bb fon+video[18]

The Students being killed over phone
Three university students and a friend have all been burnt to death over suspicion that they stole a BlackBerry mobile phone, news reports from Nigeria confirm.
What makes the matter shocking is that the assailants were so proud of their act that they actually took video footages on how they stripped the students naked, beat them up, put tyres on their necks and burnt them to death with petrol and fire.

Three of the killed people confirmed to be students of the University of Port Harcourt were Biringa Lordson, a second-year Theatre Arts student; Ugonna Obuzor, a second-year Geology student and Mike Toku, a second-year Civil Engineering student.
The fourth person was Tekena Erikena but it has not been confirmed whether he was a student of the university.

The incident happened at Part Harcourt last week and the university on Monday declared a seven-day mourning period for the murdered students.
According to local reports, the students were accused of being members of a gang of armed robbers.
They were hunted down by vigilantes from the village who accused the police of doing nothing.
A video of the incident was published on the internet. The four-minute clip shows the lynch mob attacking the victims, before putting tyres on their necks and setting them ablaze. The video is very graphic.
Rivers State police spokesman Ben Ugwuegbulam appealed for calm and urged friends and relations of the victims not to seek revenge.

He told the BBC: “The Rivers State police command is strongly opposed to such barbaric conduct.
“The command sympathises with the families of the slain students and also appeals to them not to take the laws into their hands.
Students of the university are urged not to engage in any reprisal attack as such could lead to chaos and anarchy.”
