Channeling Josephine Baker and rivaling the dress
Marilyn Monroe wore
to sing president John F. Kennedy happy birthday, Rihanna showed up at
the CFDA Fashion Awards wearing what can only be described as a sparkly
naked dress. Rihanna walked the red carpet with all the glamour and pomp
of a Las Vegas showgirl in a sheer dress with a matching thong and
gloves, designed by Adam Selman. She set it off with a matching head
wrap and pink fur stole. She was covered, literally, in Swarovski
crystals, more than 200,000 of them. The singer and provocateur was
honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America with the Fashion
Icon award, and she did not disappoint. Somehow, it’s more naked than
Carrie Bradshaw’s naked dress from “Sex and the City” — and that’s its
name:
The Naked Dress.
Say what you will, but the woman knows how to
get people talking, or, at the very least, dropping their jaws. We
could be wrong, but we’re pretty sure this is what the young folks mean
when they say you look like “sex on a stick.”

nipples (look, we’re not prudes over here, but we’re not Maxim, either) and Rihanna’s lack of pasties, but here are the ones we can:
