Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, Member of Parliament for Asawase and former Sports Minister, has reportedly dragged NEWS-ONE to court over a report the paper carried last Monday under the headline ‘Minister Weds SHS Lover’.

The said story reported that the MP, on Sunday, was reported to have had a talk-of -the-town Islamic marriage ceremony with a fresh Senior High School leaver believed to be just 15 years old.

Though NEWS-ONE had not received the writ as at the time of going to bed on Tuesday, reports monitored on radio said the Asawase MP had dragged the paper to court over the story.

On Monday when the story broke, the Asawase MP told a number of radio stations that his new wife was above 18 years.

He did not focus on NEWS-ONE during the said interviews but on a similar story carried by DAILY GUIDE also speculating the lady’s age to be 17.

Joy FM reported that it had sighted a copy of the writ of summons and that it named the defendants as Morgan Owusu, a reporter at Daily Guide, Fortune Alimi, the editor of Daily Guide, Halifax Ansah Addo, Editor in charge of NEWS-ONE and Western Publications, Publishers of Daily Guide.
